as a UX UI designer I was really impressed with the Courier. finally a Microsoft product that is passed the win os, and onto a user centric device. looking forward to hearing more about this, pls keep the product to what was shown in the demo :)

if you do release the courier by all that is my being: make it affordable. (and consider making a "full-size" version (8 x 11 opens to 16 x 22).oh.. and if it had a phone combo it would kill all other pads.

i dont know why i feel commited so much with Microsoft... i really want to see Microsoft showing something innovative and gorgeous as Courier, and encountering a huge success. i hope you won't miss the right time to release this product. Almost all is a question of timing with this kind of innovative device. I understand that too early is a waste, but too late, and it will be a Zune-Like (I love zune hd, and managed to get one although i live in France).
i have the feeling that Microsoft has gained a renewal of popularity. Hope you will take advantage of that.

Lets do an experiment.
1) Get two pieces of 8X11 paper
2) Put them side by side portrait style
3) Measure both piece of paper as if they were one
Results: It measures 8x22 NOT 16x22.
Its ok, I saw an article from a new agency that made this same mistake.
actually mathman if you took 2 8 1/2 x 11 sheets of paper and hold them in portrait orientation next to each other you get a vertical dimension of 11 and a horizontal dimension of 17. 8 1/2 x22 would be if you put both sheets in LANDSCAPE orientation

I am "writing" this on a fujitsu tablet running "7". I bought this machine to use at work. I can draw with solidworks, clean up rendered models with photoshop, all while taking notes with onenote. Those of you that think an I-pad is going to be useful in a work environment are sadly mistaken. Good luck doing any real work on that toy. This courier idea sees to be much more useful than the I-pad, but still falls far short of a true tablet PC. I will never own another basic laptop again. I am hooked on the tablet PC. The Courier could be useful for thought input because it has a pen, but does not have the power of a full PC. I could not imagine using my tablet without the pen, as I-pad fans seem to want to do, and the lacking power of a full PC is an utter failure from the start. So all of you that are drooling over these concepts, do yourself a favor and invest the money into a full fledged tablet PC. The technology is already here, but is does cost a little more. You will not be sorry.

Phones? Natal? OLD NEWS!! Ballmer won't have to look threateningly at any iPhones this year when the Win 7 mobiles come out, and that's nice. It's nice to be competitive and have a better product, and my husband and I are waiting impatiently for Christmas to come so we can pick up those phones. But the impatience pales in comparison to what we felt when we saw the Courier rumors. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME???? My dreams come true in a Windows gadget? Talk about a frenzy. Photographers, designers, artists, note-takers, project managers, and college students are all worked up over this one. Where's Courier? Can I give you my money already???
I would be more than willing to pre-book a courier, and for what it's worth, I don't see this as a niche device. As long as this thing has apps, enough storage for music,the ability to stream video, and connects through wifi and 3G, MS has a game-changer. I know tons of creative's that would be willing to drop their iphone and macbook pro, if the courier comes out, and pick up WP7S as well as a pc running 7. This thing won't just cut into Apples ipad market, it will rot Apples "core" demographic and turn them into pc users. Hopefully MS doesn't miss its window of opportunity.(pun intended) My advice is to feed them, and let them know it's not just hype.
MS, you've got my money please just don't make me wait too much longer.
Why are you trying to keep us in dark about Microsoft Courier? Please at least tell us about its specification. How long we have to wait?

If you announce a Courier release date by the iPad launch, i'll refrain from purchasing an iPad.
It looks like the Courier is possible but not probable. I'll still keep my fingers crossed though.

I want a Courier! Market it as the "Digital Moleskine" or something like that. In that video around 00:34-36 it looks soooo similiar to this "legendary"-notebook. The "moleskine"-marketing story is great invention, go-on and copy it! ;)

Apple's Press conference was pretty sweet. Everyone else better step their game up. Microsoft better release something extraordinary like the courier to stay relevant on Monday. If it isn't the Courier, those new smart phones be pretty damn cool.

@carlos to the avg consumer, Apple is the greatest thing our there. I'm not convinced at all. Everything that they have announced already existed in one form or another. Unfortunately, apple really knows how to advertise well and send their groupies to evangelize the word of Jobs
