Microsoft interns are the first Windows 8 developers

Microsoft interns recognized as first Windows 8 app developersThis past week has been incredibly exciting here at Microsoft. We have seen and heard some amazing previews of the future of Windows coming from BUILD in Anaheim, CA. But nothing has been more exciting, and more dear to our hearts, then learning that the first Windows 8 developers were our very own interns.

During their 10 weeks in development, they built apps from scratch all while providing feedback on the toolkit back to the group. Watch below as Steven Sinofsky, Windows President, celebrates this group of groundbreaking programmers.

This excitiment over the work of these developers is certainly contagious. GeekWire pick up the story and tells how Varun Mani contributed to the creation of the newsreader and weather apps. His work demonstrates how developers can quickly build and deploy apps for Windows 8 using cloud services.

Congratulations to all the interns for your hard work this summer!

Now that you know the impact that you can have as an intern or even a new hire, at Microsoft, take the next step and explore the possibilities. Whether you are looking for internships or positions for when you graduate, we have an opportunity for you!
