University grads & students: What’s your Microsoft IQ?

Tweet your way to a free T-shirt

University grads and students: We’re on a quest for the best talent in the industry. School is still in session for now, but we know you’re looking for great-fit jobs, so this is the perfect time to learn more about us.

Last year, for our university candidates, we put together an infographic that color-blocked the core engineering roles at Microsoft, and shaped the design around them. You’ll find last year’s poster right here. We got such great feedback on it, we decided to create a new one this year.

Today, we’re revealing our new university recruiting poster. Click on the image below or click  here.

The 2013 Microsoft University infographic!

Are you game for a trivia contest? See if you can find some fun facts in the mix. To try:

  • How many operating systems does Xbox One have at its core? (Answer: Three)
  • What next-generation printing tech is built into Windows 8.1? (Answer: 3D printing)
  • How many petabytes of data does Bing analyze to provide your search results? (Answer: More than 100 petabytes)

The poster offers info that will hopefully help you better understand the breadth of roles and technologies at Microsoft. And if you follow us on Facebook or Twitter, you may have noticed we’ve been teasing out snippets of the new image. Why?

We’re getting ready to kick off our Choose Your Own Adventure Twitter Contest. Starting at 10 a.m. Pacific Standard Time on Monday, October 28, 2013 and every day through Friday, November 1, 2013, we’ll be offering up some Microsoft trivia questions for you to consider.

The questions – published by @MicrosoftJobs – will relate to the Microsoft products and types of engineering roles available to university graduates at Microsoft. So you’ll want to study up on that poster (shown above)!

The prize?

Daily winners will receive their own Microsoft university program T-shirt.

As if you needed another reason to tweet.

The challenge: We ask, you answer.  You show us your knowledge, and who knows? Pretty soon, you just might find your besties, your buddies, your friends in CS, asking: “Where’d you get that?”

And when you’re participating in the contest, keep in mind:

  • You must be following @MicrosoftJobs to be eligible to win.
  • Your answer must be a reply to our tweet with the #MSTreeTee hashtag included in your response.
  • Typos and misspelled words will automatically disqualify you, so be sure to type your answers correctly.
  • If you need to mention a specific product feature or tech, use the full name of the product feature or technology correctly.
  • If you do score a shirt, right on! But it’s a one-shot deal. You are not eligible to win again during this contest period. (Entry Period: 10:00 a.m. PT on Monday, October 28, 2013 to 12:00 p.m. PT on Friday, November 1, 2013)

Each day, the first person to answer the question accurately wins a new Microsoft “Create today. Change tomorrow.” T-shirt!
